Brossard, December 20, 2023 - Following a special meeting of the council of the Township of Leeds and the Thousand Islands, JCB Construction Canada has been awarded the contract to build their new fire station.

The $5.8 million project will provide the region's residents with the best possible fire protection services thanks to a modern, fully-equipped facility. The new fire station, to be built at the intersection of Highway 15 and Route 32, will greatly improve the mobility of emergency response teams, thanks to its optimized accessibility.

Construction will start in early 2024 and should be completed by 2025, enabling the municipality to quickly reclaim the existing fire station No. 2 and reallocate this infrastructure to a third use yet to be determined.

Also working towards the construction of another fire station in the Ontario region, in Peterborough to be precise, the team at JCB is eager to get started on this new project.

"Once again, we are pooling our efforts to provide the population with an efficient fire station that will better meet the needs of their growing community," added Soroosh Sharifpoor, Project Director at JCB Construction Canada.

"We are very proud to be able to contribute to the well-being of our communities through the construction of quality infrastructure that meets the real needs of our clients," concludes Alexandre S. Boucher, President-General manager of JCB Construction Canada.
