Peterborough, February 9, 2024 - JCB Construction Canada was honored to welcome the Right Honourable Justin Trudeau, Prime Minister of Canada, to its Peterborough worksite yesterday.

After announcing a $9.3 million investment to support the construction of the municipality's new carbon-neutral fire station, the federal government is sending a strong and clear message about the importance of providing eco-responsible infrastructures that meet the real needs of its users.

"This afternoon in Peterborough, I spent time with some hardworking firefighters – to thank them for all that they do, and to hear about what this new station means in terms of training capacity and community safety. They are always there for us – and with investments like the one that helped fund this facility, we’re committed to being there for them, too", stated the Prime Minister.

Two weeks earlier, when this massive investment was announced, the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry concurred. "This transformative project, set to replace the aging Fire Station 2, will incorporate renewable energy, mass timber construction and water-saving technologies, demonstrating a commitment to sustainability and substantial operational-cost savings of $24,270 per year for the city." declared Ryan Turnbull.

JCB Construction Canada takes great pride in constructing ecofriendly buildings that have a real and positive impact on communities, and we're delighted to be able to help our clients achieve their goals.
