JCB won the award for excellence in steel construction from the CISC

Brossard, November 19, 2018 – The Canadian Institute of Steel Construction revealed the award-winning projects for Excellence in Steel construction last November 8, during the 20th edition of the Design Awards Gala at the Montreal Casino. We are proud to announce that JCB was rewarded with honours in the Stairs / Architectural Walkways category for the architectural stairs at Ubisoft’s offices in Montreal.

Each year, professionals and key stakeholders in the world of steel construction submit their projects; 105 nominations were received this year, out of which 38 finalists were picked and a distinguished jury of renown Architects and Engineers, selected 1 winner for each of the 12 categories.

JCB was honoured to have two of its projects named as finalists in the Stairs / Architectural Walkways: the walkway at Complexe de Gaspé and the architectural stairs at Ubisoft’s offices in Montreal. The stairs at Ubisoft’s offices in Montreal won the first prize in its category and stood out as an exceptional steel construction project. It was rewarded for its complexity, innovative aspect, its beauty, uniqueness and originality.

We’re proud to share the honours with the architectural firm Smith Vigeant, the structural engineers Groupe Conseil MPA, Soudure René Thibault, Allied Properties and Ubisoft Montréal. For the complete list of award winners, click here.
