About the position

Under the supervision of the Director of Finance, the Accounting Technician is responsible for the complete accounting cycle of the construction projects assigned to them and, in this capacity, acts as the accounting representative within the project teams.

Your mission as a Accounting Technician :

  • Ensure the smooth running of the accounting cycle for construction projects, including:
    - Issuing client invoices and tracking payments according to contractual agreements.
    - Recording and approving supplier/subcontractor invoices, as well as ensuring timely payments.
  • Serve as the accounting point of contact within project teams and ensure project compliance with internal policies and legal requirements, including:
    - Verifying the proper creation of projects in the system and tracking their financial status.
    - Identifying and reporting financial risks related to contracts (payment terms, billing conditions, gaps in project documentation, etc.).
    - Responding to inquiries from project teams and management regarding accounts receivable, accounts payable, and project accounting, which may include preparing analyses.
  • Participate in training the project team on accounting processes and internal procedures.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes, policies, and procedures within the accounting department.

To work with us, you need to have :

  • Acollege diploma in accounting or a related field;
  • At least three years of experience as an accounting technician;
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in French and basic English (functional bilingualism);
  • Good proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and office tools;
  • Knowledge of the Avantage accounting software (an asset);
  • Experience in the construction industry (an asset).
