Official Inauguration of the Township of Leeds Fire Station No. 2

Seeley’s Bay, Ontario, June 4th, 2025 – JCB Construction Canada is deeply honored to stand alongside dignitaries, municipal representatives, and emergency service members to celebrate the official inauguration of the new Fire Station No. 2 in the Township of Leeds and the Thousand Islands.

In the presence of the Mayor of the Township of Leeds and the Thousand Islands, Ms. Corinna Smith-Gatcke, representatives from the fire services, and many partners and local residents, a ceremonial ribbon-cutting marked the commissioning of this essential infrastructure for the safety of the community.

Designed to meet the growing needs of the area and to adapt to modern operational realities, the new fire station features three truck bays, a decontamination room, an equipment room, administrative offices, a fully equipped kitchen, a dedicated training room, and accommodations for up to 28 firefighters.

Strategically located at the intersection of Highway 15 and County Road 32 in Seeley’s Bay, the station will allow for faster and more efficient emergency response throughout the region.

In line with environmental sustainability efforts, the station is also equipped with an innovative rainwater collection and storage system, providing eco-friendly support for firefighting operations.

Calling the fire hall "a state-of-the-art facility", Mayor Corinna Smith-Gatcke added that members of the emergency services : "will be able to clean gear, safely store gear, house all of our equiment, trucks, pumpers, tankers, everything they need to be at the sound of an alarm". "This will mean our community is protected today, tomorrow and many, many years in the future. We're grateful we can support volunteer firefighters and staff to having a wonderfyll facility that they deserve"
